Use WordPress to Add Functionality to Your Existing Website

Do you have an existing website and want to add a Blog or other User Activity without having to start from scratch? We have done just that for several clients. Here are some examples.

Potter & Co.
A retail store in Newport wanted to add a Blog and a Feature items page while maintaining the look and feel of their website.

Potter & Co. website Feature page using WordPressFirst we setup WordPress as a Multisite Network so the Blog and Feature pages/sites could have their own functionality and ‘conversation’.

Then using Genesis Framework and their basic Child Theme we customized the theme to use the same masthead and background graphics as the main website. A perfect use for Genesis Simple Hooks.

On the Blog, to help cut down on spam comments we used the Facebook Comments by Fat Panda plugin. To submit a comment you have to be logged into your Facebook account. This also includes the option to share the comment on your Facebook wall — resulting in additional exposure for Potter & Co.

On the Feature page, where the idea is for customers to upload photos of themselves we used the Comment Image plugin.

Steve Sasco Designs
Celebrity jewelry designer wanted to add a Customer Photos section to their existing eCommerce website. Customers email photos of themselves wearing their purchases. Select photos are added to the website.
